1. Printing MENU on your remote.
2. Select Settings & Assistance.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Remote Control.
5. Select Programme Remote, then select the device you wish to program.
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete programming your remote.

If y'all have a standard DVR or an SD receiver, follow these steps:

1. Press MENU on your remote.
2. Select Parental Favs & Setup.
3. Select System Setup.
4. Select Remote or Remote Command.
5. Select Program Remote, then select the device you wish to program.
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete programming your remote

On the newer style DIRECTV remotes (shown above) this is done through the program remote card on the Idiot box screen  –run across the first steps above.

If your using the older larger fashion DIRECTV remote:

1. Slide the input selector at top to Goggle box
2. Concord 'SELECT + MUTE' at the same time until light blinks twice at the acme of remote
3. Press 9-9-1 (light should blink twice)
4. Printing 1 again.
5. Press 'Channel' button down every 2nd to go through codes
